In need of help finding a FFL who will receive a firearm shipped by a private party individual. Called a few places and seems like they only accept firearms shipped from other FFLs. If anyone knows a place and can share it would be greatly appreciated. Preferably in Henderson or SW Las Vegas area. TiA

Check with Big Gun?

Firearm Transfer Policy:

Firearms TRANSFERRED to Big Gun Enterprises are subject to a $20 Transfer Fee per firearm.
We require 24 hours (one business day) to process any transferred firearm(s). Invoices MUST be provided before we can release any processed firearm. We ask that you track your package to see when it is delivered. Once delivered it may be picked up after processing (one business day after we sign for it). We, unfortunately, do not have time to call everyone to notify them their items have arrived. Please track your package or call to check its status. All firearms transferred are subject to Nevada State Sales Tax (8.25%) on the purchase price.

Paperwork CANNOT be done until the firearm has been delivered and processed.

...FFLs are not all well informed. Depending on the state it is coming from, with their own laws governing transfers, but federally as long as the buyer receives it at an FFL it is ok. Meaning an individual can send the firearm to an FFL in another state.
In most cases it is a store policy not to do so, but they are aware that they can.

Firearms purchased from an INDIVIDUAL should NOT be charged sales tax if they do they are ripping you off.

Controlled Pair Munitions (on Cheyenne and Buffalo area) just did one for me a few months ago. Make sure the seller puts a note in the box they its a private party sell or yes the shop will try to tax you. The guy sent that note along with a copy of his DL and it went through no problems. Just took a little over a week with the wait. Doesn't matter if you have ccw or not they will still hold the gun for a few days until it clears when its coming from a transfer.

Also... about a year ago 2nd Amendment Gun Shop did one for a shotgun from a private party. I had called around to a handful of shops before I found them. The only reason I did controlled pair this last time was they would answer the phone when I was calling around to confirm they were still doing it.

Not exactly true.... Unfortunately.... They tried to fix it but you can get all the info here (rather than me giving you piece by piece as I need to leave right now).

Yeah, that is the text of the bill but it never made it through to amend the NRS.

Yeah, that is the text of the bill but it never made it through to amend the NRS.
That bill was to clarify the specific sale of firearms including the transfer fee.

This bulletin which started this all off back in 2015: https://tax.nv.gov/uploadedFiles/ta...rary/SUT_15-0001_Retail_Sales_of_Firearms.pdf states:

B.Taxability When Person Making the Sale is Not a RetailerThe statute provides an exemption for a sale by a person that is not a retailer. If the firearm is obtained from a person making an occasional sale there are no sales or use taxes due. An occasional sale is a sale by a person who has made two or fewer retail sales of tangible personal property during any 12-month period.NRS 372.320

Unfortunately the transfer fee is taxable since AB 113 did not pass.

So if a PRIVATE occasional seller sells you a firearm from out of state YOU DO NOT OWE SALES TAX

New Frontier Armory does.

I use them, their FFL is downloadable so you can just send it off to whomever is sending it in. Just make sure you check the address, they have 2 FFLs one for their warehouse and one for the store. You want the centennial address.
